A game bird introduced into North America is now thriving in pockets, including in one of our favorite short eared owl spots. Shot after sunset from the car, these images do not carry the details one would like to have under ideal conditions but still, the groping of up to nine birds on a harvested soy field compensated for owls that refused the get near us.
