My 11 year old convertible beauty had to go in for some diagnostics. thankfully, the dealer is next to a pond favored by some 30 mergansers...while the mechanics plotted how to spend my money, I visited the ducks. The car will live another day, and the $$ are safe to fund my other hobbies for now.

Thanks to Chantal Jacques' advice we did venture to the Floi preserve. It offered the one thing missing in the north: young birds... great (and completely deserted) park.
