The main attraction on the boardwalk the day we visited.. the warblers were late to arrive at Magee this year, perhaps knowing that the late deep frost in February will wipe out lost of insects.

This bird was identified by a birdwatcher I never met before or since at Magrish riverlands preserve. The bird was sleeping on a high branch and this is the only shot I have with the head up (eye is closed, very near the top of he head from this angle, the beak pointing to the right)

Common indeed but very hard to see in a roost. the nice thing about Magee however is the large number of eyeballs looking out and sharing info. We got tip on the roost tree, and my wife spotted the bird. Once we got below it the hawk woke up, shuffled to his right to give me a clean look, then shuffled back to position and sleep. Lucky!
