Upon my return from Canada, which BTW was my last scientific conference dedicated to Kidney biology (with the associated sadness of saying goodby to many wonderful colleagues for perhaps the last time) I awoke the next morning to a greeting committee in our back yard. First, two Toms (male turkeys, to my non American readers) were waiting impatiently for the hans to come out from the forest. once they did, the toms followed, broadcasting their intent in a manner even a human could understand. the procession moved about and included some jostling to establish dominance. Unfortunately no real fight. I will post the next part of the show tomorrow.
