This was a small part of a much, much larger ofrenda that was in honor of those who lived along or on Whittier Boulevard, east of L.A. I have the wide shot, but I also got this image. I used my 75-300mm lens to isolate the lone figure here against the backdrop. The morning backlight helped a lot as well.

It goes without saying -- at least to anyone who lives in Los Angeles -- that Vin Scully was THE voice of Dodger Baseball. He was one of a kind. This ofrenda was created in his honor. It even is displayed in Dodger blue.

This would have worked better if the photo at the far left hadn't been there. But I could not (and would not dare) move it. It's one of the reasons I chose to use my 75-300mm lens to isolate the figure more.
