Image Description: |
Headed down to the river for a couple of hours with a good friend Mark Baldwin. 5f it was when we left the car, -2f when we returned, 7 degrees makes a difference! As we walked along the river, in the distance I noticed the orange glow of the steam fog in the distance. I made my way toward it as fast as I could in the snow. On arriving I took a couple of shots with my 35mm before deciding I'd be better using the longer 70-200mm. Switched lenses quickly as I knew the sun would move fast. On getting the lenses swapped I managed 1 shot before my battery was exhausted. By the time I'd swapped out the battery, the back lit steam fog was just steam fog. This was the one shot I managed before the camera shut down! I was pretty frozen on returning to the car, but it was worth the trip. It's amazing how snow can transform a place. |
