A quick shot I took while walking around Covington, GA. This building is actually a bank, but I framed out the bank sign which was placed on the lawn in front of it, looks a while lot nicer than my local bank!
I also photographed some local stores and got chatting to some store owners, Covington is a little famous in that it was one of the few towns which was not raised to the ground by General Sherman, that much I knew already, but the store owners mentioned that the only reason for this was that Sherman was friends with a local Covington land owner at the time!

A shot from our visit to Covington, Georgia at thanksgiving. Its funny, the shots of this store at the time I took it I felt would be the best ones I got while down there, in the end my shot of the bank I liked much more, so I never got around to doing anything with this shot till now, and I actually kinda like this.
The shot looks like a HDR, it is not, it was made to look that way in Adobe Lightroom by the very scientific method of bumping the recovery, fill light and blacks to 100% then backing off the saturation to -60ish. I used that as a base for some photoshop filters - channel mixer, selective saturation, curves & gradients.
I got chatting to the store owner while taking these shots, he was a friendly chap, I promised him I'd send him the finished result, not sure if it will be to his tastes, but a print is on its way to him!

Given that it is almost 2 years to the day that I bought my first DSLR, I thought I'd look through some of the first shots I took with that Canon RebelXT (which I still use on occasion). Though my photoshop skills are basic at best, they have progressed quite a bit since then, so I ran this shot taken during a business trip to Switzerland through Lightroon & CS3. Hope you enjoy!

I figured I'd try the opposite of fake model photography, I tried to make models look real rather than real buildings look like models. The shot was actually an accident, it was taken at the train set (erm massive trainset) at the Chicago science & industry museum. My flash hadn't recycled and didn't fire, due to being in manual mode, the shot was underexposed, but converted to black & white, I thought it looked quite neat, only my opinion.
