Am Meallan - Oldshoremore Beach
One of the most beautiful beaches you will find anywhere in Scotland, and we have a good few.
Golden sands, clear aqua seas, make for a stunning location in Sutherland.
The beach has the name of Oldshoremore but is locally known as Am Meallan.
I had set up to do a few long exposures of the island of Eilean na h-Alteig which is just off shore but when the rain came I decided to try something a bit different for me. A long exposure, rain on the filters, and of course a bit of ICM work. I don't normal like ICM images, but I find the ones that do work tend to involve coastal locations.

Please feel free to comment as its interesting to hear peoples opinions especially when its a type of photography that is not always everyone's cup of tea.

Gruinard Bay
We were heading to Aultbea for a nice evening meal so took the chance to visit a few of the beaches on the way.
Some great light mixed with heavy rain showers produced a nice looking rainbow, would have been rude not to have stopped;)

The twin peaks of Beinn Ghobhlach and Cnoc a Bhaidrallaich are one of the focal points that can be seen from miles around the Ullapool and Gairloch area.
I was looking for a location to catch the view at sunset, luckily I found a raised location and was able to catch the cotton grass as a foreground for that image, not the greatest sunset to be honest but a little bit of colour through the clouds.

Russell Burn Waterfall
Russell Burn Waterfall on the spectacular Bealach na Ba road that runs from Lochcarron to Applecross.
We took a slight detour on our way home from our trip to check out this area, and it was one of those moments where you reach a location and suddenly realize where you are:). It would have been nice to have had a bit more flow over the falls, but certainly an area I need to check out more.
