Almost at the end of the Maggia Valley is the village of Mogno. The church was destroyed by an avalanche in the 1980s. The star architect Mario Botta then built this wonderful little church. Made of gneiss and marble from the valley, it stands there in an elliptical shape, fitting into the landscape and yet still modern.
