With a distance of 9.5 km and an elevation gain of under 1000 meters, Paget Peak is one of the shorter scrambles in Yoho and Banff. Paget Peak is often recommended to those who want to start scrambling in the Canadian Rockies. The experience of scrambling up Paget Peak was fantastic. The panoramic views from the area around the Lookout were just stunning!

My favorite hike trail, also the most challenging hike on my Rocky Mountain trip. It's a 20km one way in, one way out hike that encompasses almost 1000m of elevation gain. The last 2km is a scramble up the peak. If you want to find the secrets on the summits, here you are 😊

Wasootch trial is 13.4-km out-and-back trail near Kananaskis, Alberta, considered a challenging route. Trail is steep at the start especially the first 400m, but levels out and gets a bit easier. There are 7 peaks totally. It is mentally and physically tough with all the up and down on the ridge. The hike to the first 5 peaks is physically challenging but not too bad. Heading to the 7th peak would require scrambling.
Difficulties are steep sections, loose rocks, and potential for getting off trail. The way back down is just as tough as the way up. But the views are breathtaking and worth the challenge.
