Little Lougheed is a short and steep hike in Spray Valley Provincial Park. The trail is near Dead Man's Flats, Alberta. Generally considered a challenging route. No official parking area for Little Lougheed. Park on the shoulder of Smith-Dorrien Trail (Hwy 742) next to the trailhead.

We waited on the side of the road for companion, until one car came, a couple with a dog, they said, one friend would come with his dog. Finally, 5 people, with two dogs as a group.

Little Lougheed is an unofficial trail in Spray Valley Provincial Park, unmarked but well-established route. Starting through the dense forest and cross over the streams, continuing the steep climb up, straight up all the way along the mountainside with consistent and noteworthy views! Reaching summit involves light scrambling, be careful the loose rocks.

The top of Little Lougheed offers a stunning view of the Spray Lakes Reservoir, with Old Goat Mountain and Mount Nestor across the valley. The views of the larger peaks of Mount Lougheed, to the south the majestic Mount Sparrowhawk, and a little farther North The Rimwall. Strong wind on the peak, bring extra clothes.

The photo is the panorama of 11 photos on the peak.

It is 8.7-km out-and-back trail near Banff, Alberta, a moderately challenging hiking route. Following the paved trail beyond the Cave and Basin National Historic Site. Within a few minutes, views open up to a mountain panorama across the Bow River. After a gentle yet steady climb away from the river, the paved section ends and a moderately difficult trail loops through a water-filled canyon. The picture was taken along the hiking trail.

With a distance of 9.5 km and an elevation gain of under 1000 meters, Paget Peak is one of the shorter scrambles in Yoho and Banff. Paget Peak is often recommended to those who want to start scrambling in the Canadian Rockies. The experience of scrambling up Paget Peak was fantastic. The panoramic views from the area around the Lookout were just stunning!

The video clips shows we scrambled up one of the peaks at this fall's Rocky Mountains trip:
