Moscow, Idaho. Storm clouds drift over a tilled wheat field on a cold winter sunset.

These are the first storm clouds that brought us our snow from a couple of days ago. Right after the sunset the wind picked up to about 20mph and was bone chilling.

If you come out to the Palouse in winter bring lots of warm layers and waterproof windbreak coat, pants, hat, boots and gloves. If you get cold it takes a long time to warm back up. Always have water and extra snacks with you. If you get hungry you'll get cold. Also bring a snow shovel just incase the snow gets too deep. Of corse never try driving on unplowed roads, you wont see you car until spring if you do.

We received 6 to 8 inches in the Palouse from Steptoe south to Pullman and east into the mountains in Idaho today. Not much snow north of Steptoe yet. Five miles south Moscow the snow thins out.
