Books-A-Million #158 (19,782 square feet)
120 E Mall Road, Suite 120, Huntington Mall, Barboursville, WV
Opened in November 2011; previously Borders (1999-September 2011)
The window of time between Borders' closing and BAM's opening was so short that I don't think BAM did any major modifications to the space. I know for sure that the outer space-themed carpeting in the children's section is a Borders leftover, and I believe the decorative bookshelves with fake books in them are as well, as well as some of the department signage (registers, newsstand, children's, etc.). Compare this to the
Fredericksburg Barnes & Noble that used to be a Borders and it's obvious that B&N did a gut remodel of their space to the point that you'd never know it was ever Borders. In here I got vibes that brought back memories of frequenting their store in
Patrick Henry Mall, and it was cool to see these aesthetics once again.
