In Fairfax I finally experienced an up-to-date Chuck E. Cheese's location, housed in a smaller in-line tenant space that used to be a Showbiz. The look here is known as 2.0, characterized by the green and brown storefront, simple graphic designs on the walls inside, grey and green square carpeting, wood elements, and, of course, the dance floor. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I actually really like this look. It's so much more aesthetically pleasing compared to the gaudy purple CECs of the mid-late 2000s and early-mid 2010s and feels fresh and comforting. A lot of stores I've been to could definitely use this update!

So here we go: the infamous 2.0 remodel light-up dance floor, with its' intended use being a performance space for the costumed Chuck E. during "live" shows. This is what ultimately replaced the animatronics, and it's a pretty huge loss. The dance floor itself is a neat feature, but there's no real "show" to speak of anymore; even the botless Circles of Light setup at least had interesting light programming synched to the video, but here the video just plays across six TVs unaccommodated. It's a definite downgrade, especially as a replacement for the store's Studio C Alpha from 2000 (and before that the Rockafire Explosion/3-stage Munch's Make Believe Band), but this is what you get from CEC nowadays.
