The photos I took before visiting this Richmond Captain D's were of the exterior of a brand new Popeyes on Broad Street, and while I most definitely had planned on having lunch there I had a hard time telling if they'd actually opened for business yet or not. The inside and outside menu boards are on display, but the restaurant has no listing on the Popeyes app nor on Google Maps, and the group of people I saw enter the building at what I expect will be their 10AM opening time (hours aren't listed on the doorways, either) appeared to be employees doing onboarding. I decided to wait and see if they get established in March before I try to visit, so instead I ended up at this particular Captain D's! This is a location I've passed by several times but never really thought about, and now having been there I wish I had been more attentive of the building. The biggest takeaway is that there's no drive-thru service available here, so all ordering has to be done inside at the counter (intended for dine-in customers) or from an additional little sliver of space to the left of the kitchen (intended for carryout customers).
