I was born to a warrior mother, a woman who served her country in the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. Our home ran like a naval ship even at my young age. Along the way my beautiful mother taught me many things. How to be a lady and then what it was to be a woman. Most of all my mother taught me to fight. She taught me to respect a fire arm and yet to use my hands to battle whomever tried to hurt me. At all times she taught me to use my head and to walk away from conflict when possible.

For decades I have trained in the Japanese arts of Ninjutsu and Kinjutsu, both of which are the forbidden techniques in today’s world. I consider myself to be a modern day Japanese “Onna-Bugeisha,” a female warrior who engages in battle alongside the Samurai mainly in time of need. Like me, the Onna-Bugeisha were members of the “Bushi Samurai” class in feudal Japan.

I have taken my chosen discipline very seriously. It is my focus and my everyday religion out on the street, in the boardroom and even in the bedroom. I understand how each of these “opportunities” work and how they can work for me.

Sun Tzu often said “The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting. If you know the enemy and know thy self, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.”

A warrior is often found “walking quietly amongst them,” even if it is in six inch stilettos.

That which does not completely kill me...should run.
