This is about as close to the middle of nowhere as you can get in Qatar. My friend, Jonny, and I took a crazy trek from the western side of Qatar near the southern border to the Inland Sea in the southeast. It is without road or permanent settlement and almost untracked (nothing in Qatar is entirely untracked). We encountered camel herders and not much else. Some amazing terrain including about an hour picking through nothing but sharp jagged rocks which cost me one tyre.
