This is a family portrait of my daughter and son-in-law and their children. It was something we had all wanted to do but things get hectic in a big family so it was only the day before I left England that we were able to schedule it. Of course, that day decided to skunk my idea of an outdoor shoot by being overcast with dark clouds and rain. This was my "plan b" location in front of some large windows in the Milton Keynes Shopping Centre. No flashes with me so I sorta had to roll with the punches, so to speak.
I'm pretty pleased given the limitations imposed by the heavy overcast sky and windows stealing six stops of light from me versus what I would have had outdoors on a sunny day. I just had to tough it out at 1/15 at f5.6. That shutter speed is quite slow (to let in more light) so you will see a little movement blur on anyone who was moving. That aperture is also quite wide for a camera this big so anything closer to the camera or further back from it than Melissa's hands are somewhat out of focus. As I said, I'm pleased that I did all I could. With a family this beautiful you can't go far wrong.
Oh! Camera was my Crown Graphic. Film Fuji Astia 100F.
