Nikon F4 with Fuji Velvia slide film. Nikkor 180mm f2.8 ED-AF lens with TC-201 2x teleconverter.
It was very windy and the light had really dropped. I had worked out approximately where I needed to stand to get this shot on this evening just after solstice. I was waiting and waiting for the moonrise when my wife called. Her car had died in the middle of a busy traffic intersection and she had a passenger who would not get out of the car. I waited about another minute but realised I had to go.
I looked over my shoulder all the way back to the car but there was nothing. With a heavy heart I packed down all my gear and threw it in the car. Just before driving off I saw the moon just appearing.
I threw my gear together as fast as possible and took several shots since the wind was blowing hard and I wasn't sure any of the shots would come out. I threw the gear back in the car and raced of to rescue my wife.
Truly, this photo felt like my "Moonrise over Hernandez"!
I hope you like it too.
Edit: Rebalanced elements. Better separation.

Taken from the MIA park. That speckledy stuff is called grain. It's from the film, not a filter.
