Nature Journal Log 112216: This morning we watched the terns work hard to get a fish meal only to have it taken away by the gulls. The gulls are much faster and chase the terns down and either take the fish away or make the terns drop their catch.The Osprey came by and caught a nice size fish but the gulls did not try and take a meal from the Osprey. Gulls are smart!!!

B&W Wednesday
Immature Bald Eagle with a meal! On this day I went to Santa Margarita Lake for about 3 hours and saw no eagles! Driving back home I spotted this Immature bald Eagle at Atascadero Lake sitting in the tree top , watching the many Coots below him. I knew this would be the day to get a image of a coot in the eagles talons! I waited and turned my head for a second and of course the eagle attacked before I could get it together and get some focused sharp shots. Anyway I got a few shots and the hunt continues!!!!!!!! Go Eagles!!!!!
