Cow Moose cooling off in Snake River Grand Teton National Park 2018. The moose population in North America is estimated to be fewer than 1.5 million, with 1 million in Canada alone. Up to 200,000 are estimated to live in Alaska. One theory why moose lose their antlers is that it makes it easier for bulls to forage in the winter, when food is scarce.

The Roosevelt Arch is a rusticated triumphal arch at the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park in Gardiner, Montana, United States. Constructed under the supervision of the US Army at Fort Yellowstone, its cornerstone was laid down by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1903. The top of the arch is inscribed with a quote from the Organic Act of 1872, the legislation which created Yellowstone, which reads: "For the Benefit and Enjoyment of the People".

Up early taking images of Bison near Madison Campground when I noticed this White Wolf across the Fire Hole River maybe 200 yards away from me. Simply beautiful!!!!!! Notice the dry blood on her face!!!!!! I was told by a Yellowstone Wolf Watcher that the Hayden Pack made a kill overnight in the area. My friends asked me if I was scared and my response is " I use to be a paperboy in Detroit" LOL

I paid a visit to the Grizzly Wolf Discovery Center and meet Sam! Sam was placed in captivity as a young cub after his mother disappeared in Alaska. He wandered in to a fishing village where people (young and old) began hand-feeding him, becoming quite the attraction and a dangerous situation. Without a mother to care for him and becoming habituated to human food, he had to be placed in captivity and arrived at the Center in 1996. Being from the coastline of Alaska, he is very large – weighing approximately 1050 pounds.
