The first Audi 100 was developed by Auto Union and presented in Nov. 1968 as a 4-door saloon. It received the internal code C1, and was designed by Ludwig Kraus.
A 2-door saloon followed in October 1969, and in October 1970 started production of the Coupé (although already presented in Sept. 1969).
It's strange that the official Dutch car register RDW has noted 'Auto Union' as brandname of this car, and 'Audi' as a sub-brandname.
