The Facel III was presented to the press in April 1963. It was the successor of the Facellia.
It made use of the B18 engine of the Volvo P1800. But this new model could not turn the tide. Facel Vega went bankrupt in October 1964.
Some 192 cabriolets were made.

"Facel Vega, founded by Jean Daninos, brother of the writer Pierre Daninos, wanted to produce automobiles which combined comfort and power".
