We were visiting the Naarden Photo Festival, and suddenly I discovered some twenty old Lancias on a car-park. Our visit happend to coincide with a club meeting of the Dutch Lancia Club, I guess. That was a lucky one!
The Lancia Appia series was first introduced at the Torino Motor Show in April 1953. The body style was very similar to the 1950-1958 Aurelia.
The Aurelia and Appia were designed under the direction of engineer Vittorio Jano (1891-1965).
The Appia platform and technics formed a base for many different body variants as convertible or coupe, executed by famous car designers like Boano, Michelotti, Pininfarina or Zagato.
This Appia ia a transition model: it has the grille of the second series, but the rear lamps of the third series. The rectangular indicators and bumper with overriders are typical for the 2nd generation Appia.
The Appia Type II was restyled by Antonio Fessia, the new design engineer at Lancia.
Also Appia Type III underwent body and style modifications, such as a wider horizontal grille. The lowered bonnet improved visibility.

I found this nice car behind the fence of a classic car trader. I wasn't able to read the additional facts, I couldn't get any closer...

This car has a very special laquer treatment: transparant top laquer covers lots of older colour layers, it's like a polychrome antique machine.
I knew this car from the mid 90s. I recognised her on pictures from fellow Flickr members so I knew that it still existed. But it took me more than 17 years to find it back.
The Škoda 1200 was produced from 1952 till 1956, and also available as a 4-door saloon.
1221cc,
1120 kgs.
New Dutch license number issued at Sept. 19, 1995.
Since she has been imported in 1995 this veteran car is still owned by the same person.
