This Opel Blitz 1,5 Ton was based on the civilian Blitz light truck which was introduced in Autumn 1930. It was a very popular truck. In the 1930s it was the most produced light truck in Germany. It was manufactured in the Brandenburg production plant and in Rüsselsheim.
This Blitz was the military version specially developed for the Wehrmacht (German Army).

This Opel Blitz was based on the civilian Blitz 3 Ton truck which was introduced in the Autumn of 1930. It was a very popular truck. In the 1930s it was the most produced light truck in Germany. The Blitz was manufactured in the Brandenburg production plant.
This Blitz was the military version specially developed for the Wehrmacht (German Army).
Also an AWD Blitz version was used by the German Wehrmacht.
After the RAF bombings of the Brandenburg Opel factory on August 6th, 1944 production had become impossible. From then on, the Blitz trucks were built in the Mercedes factories in Mannheim. These Mannheim Blitz versions are easy recognizable by the 'incomplete' grille.
