Fluidr / Pueblo Bonito, Chaco Canyon by Sandra Herber

Chaco Canyon is a truly amazing place. Located in a remote part of New Mexico, a long drive down a dirt road from the nearest outpost (which is essentially just a gas station). Chaco Canyon contains a series of complexes (pueblos) built by the Anasazi (or ancestral Puebloans) between 900 and 1150. It's really hard to understand the scale and beauty of the place until you get there and see it, but trust me, it's truly breath-taking. This is an image of Pueblo Bonito (the largest pueblo in Chaco) as a storm rolled in.
