This is the first image I've produced from a trip to Greenland that I took in July. Well, I say 'to Greenland', but I only scratched the surface of that amazing place. I went to Ilulissat (an Inuit word meaning 'icebergs') to see the amazing icebergs of Disko Bay. Last year I went to Newfoundland, chasing icebergs. The icebergs I saw there would have originated in Greenland 2-3 years before they got to Newfoundland. It's easy to see the difference - the icebergs I saw in July were HUGE. It's so hard to judge size - and even harder to convey it in an image - but this tower was only part of a huge and quite magnificent iceberg that I think was 150-200 feet tall. If you'd like read the whole story of my trip and see a still from a drone shot of this iceberg which gives you the idea of the scale, take a look at my blog post about the trip.

Apologies for my absence from Flickr lately. I've been busy and distracted, but I have tried to drop in once in a while to see what you're all doing. I'll try harder now.
