In February 2020 I took a true trip of a lifetime to Antarctica. I'd been dreaming of taking this trip for years and, in retrospect, I'm so incredibly grateful I did it this year (I arrived home on February 27, just two weeks before lockdown). I've been lucky enough to have lived and travelled all over the world, but Antarctica was truly unique, awe-inspiring and can only be described in superlatives. What stuck with me, though, was the sense that humans are simply visitors in this raw, vast and beautiful place. Here is my first image which, I hope, will give you a sense of the beautiful majesty of the place.

Fish Islands, Antarctica.

I made a short film of what I saw in Antarctica. If you'd like to see it, head over to YouTube or you can watch it here on Flickr.

I wrote three blog posts about this trip, if you'd like read more and see some more documentary images of the trip:

Antarctica, Part 1
Antarctica, Part 2 (the day this picture was taken in the Fish Islands is described in this part of the blog)
Antarctica, Part 3
