Ginshandan (Sea of Silver Sand) is the name of the gorgeous sand garden at Ginkaku-ji (Silver Pavilion) in Kyoto. Before I went to Japan I dreamed of photographing amazing gardens and this is my favourite image of any of the lovely, fascinating, compelling gardens I saw.

The famous bamboo forest in Arishiyama, in infrared.

I took one of my favourite images ever in this spot, so there never seemed a reason to post another from this location but, now, four years later, I'll post this one.
