I gave myself a two month break from Photography. Every day was spent with family, friends, cooking, reading etc. All those things I really wished I had more time for. Over the holidays decided to put away all gear and focus on the things I had been missing. Feel rejuvenated, refocused and truly happy. So when the winter storm rolled through this past weekend decided to break out my new A7rV which I had not touched since receiving it several weeks back. Headed to Yosemite and oh my what a welcome I got!

Have been fortunate to take in this scene a few times this month. Cannot remember the last time we had this many days of snow in the valley. The soft snow pillows against the majestic glowing El Cap, always takes my breath away. I decided to get really low in the water to offer this perspective of the iconic scene.

I love winter for the soft light, the way snow covers distractions, the mist enveloping the mountains, the solitude, the minimalism, the quiet moments that help us to focus inward. I love this quote by Ansel Adams.
