Just returned from conducting a workshop in the Redwood National forest. A truly therapeutic and rewarding experience for all involved especially myself.

Apparently that word means the warmth of the sun in the winter. As glorious as that feeling is, it pales in comparison to the delight experienced in witnessing this scene. I have lost count of the innumerable times I have stood here and photographed this landscape and yet simply cannot wait to revisit and recapture magical moments like this for as long as I can.
Also wanted to share the good news I have launched a Winter Wonderland workshop for Yosemite National Park.

Whoever thinks it is not possible to accept death with grace should visit Deadvlei. Like exquisitely carved sculptures these trees branch out from the dry river bed. I was waiting for that exact time when the clay pan would be in shadow, the dunes in the light and the line of transition the same as the line of light and shadow. Such a rewarding experience to shoot these subjects while waiting for that deliberate moment to press the shutter.

Just needed to take a break from the desert and soak in a different kind of glow. This was shot in the Redwood forest earlier this year. The scene reminded me of Albert Bierstadt paintings.

If these walls could talk would they tell us stories of passion, perseverance and prosperity or would they speak of greed, betrayal and despair? The German colonizers painted bright colors on the walls to cheer their wives who were far from their homeland, in the middle of a desert. Not sure about the wives, but I can vouch for the fact that the colors made me very happy!
