The more I explore the more I fall madly in love with our planet. This was at the end of a steep hike in paradise... aka Kauai.

Floating past gigantic icebergs is one of the most iconic experiences of a visit to Alaska. The beautiful architecture and color of the glacial ice complimented by the clouds in the sky. This was one of those times when I realized that there would be a specific moment when the frame would open itself up. And when it did, had the satisfaction of this capture. Felt like I had discovered a secret passage through the glacial vault to treasure beyond.
Please do enlarge the image and view it on a large screen with a dark background and muted ambient lighting. Please do observe the texture of the ice, the hint of sunlight coming through, the ice peaks beyond pretending to be mountains and the sky dabbled with puffy clouds. And if you feel even a part of the awe I experienced then my efforts will have been well served.
Have a wonderful rest of the week. I will be off the virtual social grid for a couple of weeks as I connect with the Himalayas in Bhutan. Hope to bring back images to share from the "Happiest place on Earth".

Some experiences remain fresh in our memories for a long time. This was one such experience for me. Deep in the heart of Mt.Aspiring National park, we went exploring along the river bed hoping for a shot. The weather turned on us suddenly and before we knew it there was a thunderstorm headed our way. As the rain drops pelted down on us the drama began to unfold in the distance. Beautiful dark blue clouds danced above the torquoise waters. Ethereal light permeating the scene before us as the wind whipped up and threatened to throw us off balance. We knew we had to leave and yet stayed rooted hypnotized by the magic. Inspiration and aspiration blending together like the rain drops with the river.

Since I do not own a drone, aerial landscapes are usually well beyond my reach. This particular location in Utah though does not require a drone. Standing on the edge of a ridge you get to look down on what looks like an extraterrestrial landscape. Colors and textures melting together to form a visual amalgam that leaves you wondering if its all just a dream.

If these walls could talk would they tell us stories of passion, perseverance and prosperity or would they speak of greed, betrayal and despair? The German colonizers painted bright colors on the walls to cheer their wives who were far from their homeland, in the middle of a desert. Not sure about the wives, but I can vouch for the fact that the colors made me very happy!
