When I visited Casa de Serralves a month ago, this was the room I liked best. This organic line that came from the top left corner and seemed to cross the whole room caught my attention and filled my eyes with joy. It added a supernatural atmosphere to the room together with the light that entered softly through the window. A perfect diagonal to help me make a strong composition.

I like the charm of the old empty house, and the large rooms with natural light and windows with views over the gardens. And this afternoon it was so good as there was nobody there visiting it, no exhibition there to be seen, only the house, its emptiness and tits silence.

Only the light inhabits the dining-room now. An empty room, but yet so full of memories of happenings that took place here. Now, the silence and the echo of your steps when you dare go in to look at any detail or at the surrounding gardens. Whenever I visit this house, I wonder what kind of life would such a small family have inside these beautiful walls with such magnificent views...

I went to Serralves to photograph the Contemporary Art Museum (Siza Vieira's work). And I did that, but, what I am posting now is a photograph of the old house. I like the charm of this building, and the large rooms and windows with views over the gardens. And this afternoon it was so good as there was nobody there visiting it, so I could enjoy the whole house for myself.
