The Grief by Teixeira Lopes, a renowned Portuguese sculptor.

It was designed to represent the grief one can feel when there's a loss, when someone we love dies... It was made in 1898 to be placed in a family grave at the cemetery of Agramonte in Porto. There was likely a change of plans, because this sculpture is now the leading sculpture at the "Garden of Feelings" ("Jardim dos Sentimentos", no Palácio de Cristal). In this garden there is a plant representing every feeling...

Fátima in Fatima. This Custody caught my attention on a visit to an exhibition in the Sanctuary of our Lady of Fátima: "Secret and Revelation", a temporary exhibition evocating the apparition of July, 1917. In the 4th year of the centennial celebrations of the Apparitions of Fatima".
