I am always surprised when I see when a lot of buildings like this were actually built. One always assumes that, because of the style (so-called 'collegiate gothic') and the mental-images that accompany them (century-old collection of wisdom and knowledge because it looks exactly like the references in Europe) that these are very old structures, which simply isn't the case.

Below all of that stonework there is a modern steel frame.

For reference, Frank Lloyd Wright had built the Robie House in Chicago 22 years earlier.
