pilgrim's dorms along the processional route. not a pretty girl but she's got character.
the repeated units, the colourful treatment of the ground floor, the seating integrated with the columns made me think of herman hertzberger - and through him aldo van eyck.
in böhm's original proposal, which was too expensive to build, the rooms were grouped together with a great sensivity for the sense of community that may spontaneously arise between people who are sharing an experience, an event, be it pilgrimage, accidents, or the olympics...
the sensitivity is still there, I find, in the built form.
