the koubba el baadiyin, 1117-1120, in its crumbling context. the finest building in marrakech by far. notice how narrow the alleys around the house are. originally, it would have been the building's interior which gave you a sense of opening, of space, of pause, and even relief as a contrast to the contracted exterior. an elegant architectural manipulation of ancient origin.
