cino zucchi won the town planning competition for an abandoned industrial area on giudecca in venice in 1995.
he went on to design the finest building of the new development, a u-shaped corner block by the entrance bridge. a choice position for an excellent piece of contextualism executed with modernist restraint and even humour in the use of istrian stone.
