This had been new to Greater Manchester Fire Service in 1996 as a mobile incident unit, and had served in that role with them until 2014, when she was sold on at auction. A Volvo B6 with Northern Counties bodywork, kitted out by Saxon, she now dispenses beer as a mobile bar, rather than fire service support.

The deregulated bus industry is full of stories of things that have happened by the most peculiar twists of fate and telling of ironies.

For example, L247 CCK began life with the original Stagecoach Manchester operation, under Ribble control, in direct competition with G M Buses South on the busy and lucrative 192 service. She was later sold on (after transfer elsewhere within the Stagecoach empire), but ended up, by twist and turn, back in Manchester with UK North (along with several other similar vehicles) who put her to work under their GM Buses unit on, of all things, the 192... run in direct competition with, you've guessed it, Stagecoach Manchester...
