A hurried shot of an unusual purchase by Midway - a Bedford YRT, new originally to Parks of Hamilton. I hope you will forgive the interloping lady - as indeed that she won't mind being featured herself.
Within a week the Bedford was reregistered by Midway to HIL 2574, although that did little to mask the underlying condition of the vehicle.

Hyde Bus Station, 20/08/1988.
Prior to entering the deregulated stage carriage scene, Stuart had operated a modest number of lightweight Bedford coaches and it was these vehicles that he initially used on service. To their numbers were added more Bedfords (originally from Edinburgh/Lothian) including NFS 208M here.
It eventually became obvious that such vehicles were a little too flimsy for the rigours of stop-start competitive work and so double-deckers gradually became the norm, although the Bedfords did linger; and two Ford R1014 service buses were also added later, keeping the lightweight theme going.
