OK, so this shot has been taken thousands, if not millions of times. So what? I reckon I've shot it on at least 20 different occasions, spanning the last 40 years-or-so. It's a view that I just never tire of and can occasionally get very emotional about. I actually found myself with just a hint of a lump in my throat as we drove out of the dale this time.

Went I went into Liverpool, last week, the main reason was to visit the Central Library and, more specifically, to get a couple of shots of the new atrium, using the Sigma 8mm f3.5 EX DG Circular Fisheye lens on my Eos 5DII. A lot of folk regard this, and similar, lenses as something of a joke but there are certain situations where it gets a result that simply could not be achieved in a single shot, any other way. I have used it extensively to capture "uppies" of church and cathedral ceilings.
So this pair of images (up and down) are hand-held HDR triplets, one taken lying on the floor and the other hanging over the hand rail on the top floor.
I have looked at loads of images of the library, both on Flickr and elsewhere but have not seen anything else like them so far.

Having been locked out of this account for 18 months (June '17 to December '18) I am now in the process of moving some of the images from my temporary account over to this one.
Here's me, back in September 2017, celebrating another milestone, my 65th birthday. When I was a teenager, I decided that I didn't want to see the turn of the century as that would make me 48 years old and I desperately did not ever want to be that old! Funny how your attitude changes! Now, bus pass in hand and all pensions nicely sorted (thank you), life is good, very good!
