You get to see two staircases at Penrhyn : The formal Staircase and the back stairs.
If I was to say "Escheresque" would you know what I mean?
Again, taken "blind" with the 5D way out in space over the balcony but this time, a pseudo HDR from a single frame using DynamicPhoto HDR. Shot at ISO2000 : f4.5 : 1/20 sec.
I was advised by one of the very knowledgeable and helpful guides that I would "never get a half decent photograph that way"?!?

You get to see two staircases at Penrhyn : The formal Staircase and the back stairs.
The formal staircase is a real tour-de-force of self indulgeance. every square inch of it is decorated to the n'th degree and then some...fabulous!
This is a hand-held HDR triplet taken "blind" with me leaning over the balcony and the camera held as far out in front of me as possible. Shot at ISO 2000 : f4.5.
In reality, the staircase is quite dark but DynamicPhoto HDR brings out the colours quite nicely? Once everythin was stitched together, it was pushed, pulled and twisted about using ACDSee Pro to get the perspectives somewhere near right.

I visited Penrhyn Castle for the third time this month, previously in 2009 and 2011. On both previous visits, I was told that the castle did not conform to the new NT policy re photography and that interior photography was not allowed. Very sad as this is a magnificent place!
This time, however.....no problem, off you go, sir!
So off I went!

Whilst we did not actually get wet during the whole 4 days that we were in North Wales, we did come close a couple of times!
