Having sold my old Bergamont electric mountain bike, I ordered a new Specialized FSR Turbo from those really nice people at the Specialized Concept Store in Nottingham towards the end of May. Initially, they told me that delivery would be at the end of June, then mid-July, and finally, mid-late August. With summer slipping by, I decided to cancel the order and I bought this beauty on Ebay. Just 18 months old and with only 400 miles on the clock, I got a hugely better spec bike and saved almost £2,500 on the price of a new one. Result happiness!

I was awake early, this morning so a swift cuppa in bed and then out for an early morning rideout. Surprisingly, it wasn't too muddy so I ventured all the way through Newstead Abbey Park and up onto the top of Newstead pit tip. I sat up there for about twenty minutes, reflecting on the world before heading back home. Just over nine miles and only three other humans!
