Progress report on the installation of the Shirebrook Colliery Memorial. The footings are in and the black Granite plinth is almost completed, just waiting for the bronze sculpture, itself to be dropped into position. The final work will be unveiled on Sunday, April 30th, exactly thirty years after the pit closed. It's been a long time coming and is the result of a gargantuan fundraising programme but, looking at the maquettes, it will be stunning!

The Acrylic Paint Pouring learning curve steepens with attempt number four. For this one, I moved from 10X8 artist's board to a 16X12 stretched canvas. This represents a significant increase in materials cost. I reckon the canvass, plus paint, cost around £8.00. I still haven't quite cracked the thinning of the paint in order to get it to flow. This one was still just a little bit too thick but heading in the right direction.
