We had another excellent lunch at the Bridge Inn, Oxton, yesterday, followed by a drive down to Gunthorpe to see how the River Trent was shaping. Not the absolute highest that I've seen it but getting there! Here are two shots of the weir, or rather, where the weir should be. These pics were taken, with express permission, from the island between the lock and the weir.

The only problem with mountain biking, at this time of year, is that the bikes get absolutely caked in it every time you go out! So during the wind and rain of the last week, I gave them both a good clean and lube-up, ready for the next dry day (whenever that might be LOL!

In the wake of Dudley, Eunice and Franklin, I took the opportunity to nip over to Kings Mill Viaduct Waterfall, this morning and I'm glad that I did. I reckon that this is the heaviest flow that I have seen, there!
