Tzitzimitl is an adult female great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) who is easily recognizable due to her unique caudal fin which is missing the upper part of the fin due to an injury.
She is named after female Aztec deity associated with stars that can be seen around the sun during a solar eclipse.

Tzitzimitl, a big, beautiful female white shark (Carcharodon carcharias), swims up from down deep. She is named after an Aztec deity, whose name loosely translates to "air demon." Tzitzimitl is missing the upper portion of her caudal fin, giving her a distinct look.
