This peacock spider from Western Australia was previously known as Saitis speciosus but has now been included in Maratus. The orange hairs are only visible during the display. If you want to read the paper where this species is illustrated in more detail you can download Peckhamia 103.1 from here (might take a couple of minutes)

And to get an even better appreciation of these little spiders watch my movies

one of the most spectacular species in this group of spiders. Check out my "peacock spider" videos on YouTube if you want to see similar spiders in action

Canon 20D + 60mm Macro + Raynox MSN - 202 + DIY Diffuser. Magnified to 3.5x.

Super stoked to find this little guy! Was very hard to even see through the naked eyes. The body length is about 3mm. Love the glassy green eyes.

No unnatural posing, post processing or focus stacking ever used. I hate doing force posing or focus stacking. To me it’s way more fun to keep things pure and natural. That's what makes it an art. It’s also very challenging to do while your subject is on the move. This also shows your real skills as a true photographer IMHO. Thus, All my pictures were taken in the subject’s natural habitat of alive, happy, and healthy animals.

Enjoy and I do Appreciate any comments. Thanks!
