25 January 2038, 3 a.m.

Three us navy seals special operators have been deployed in Neo Tokyo' no man’s land for a recon mission.
Earlier in the day, US army staff lost contact with an entire light armored platoon. The 42 soldiers are KIA and seemed to have engaged fire with an unidentified enemy.

The mission is simple : infiltrate the crime scene and discover what forces annihilated the platoon.

Corporal Preacher, privates Stump & Rabbit are getting closer, they have climbed to a high point to get a better view on the street. Everything seems extremely quiet, smoke dances in the breeze, a few drops of water are still falling from the rooftops after an heavy rain.
The soldiers are enjoying this suspended moment, even though they perfectly know it could just be the calm before the storm...

This is the first picture of my last lego series !
Everything is done in camera as usual, so few retouch here, just to combine smoke and water drops from different shots. The foreground was build from scratch, from extruded polystyrene actually. And the background uses two buildings made with polystyrene and cardboard. The advertising billboards are customs too. It is made with printed designs on Plexiglas and we have built small light box behind it using ruba Led.

I have worked on building the set pieces with two set designers from the cinema industry, Paul De Laroche, Frédéric Mercier and his son Antoine Mercier. The billboards were also engineered with the director of photography Olivier Tresson.

I couldn't resist to publish my favorite picture from the book ! Here is two majestic sauropods eating three leaves while our paleontologist's couple are heading up the river.

These brachiosaurus come from an old set released 17 years ago !

LEGO DINO is a 144 pages book done in collaboration with Florent Goussard, a paleontologist working at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris. It is a real scientific book about dinosaurs illustrated by my pictures and the great drawings of Patrick Biesse.

The concept is simple : a book for all ages that talks about the dinosaurs and also the paleontologist job. Most of the time it takes the shape of a paleontologist's field notebook, the paleontologist showing to kids his personal notebook, reading it, is almost like having the chance to watch Dinos in the flesh.

2 Deinonychus, yes they are not velociraptors, are attacking a baby brachiosaurus ! Deinonychus means "terrible claw" in greek, due to his very distinctive claw, which was a terrible weapon espacially when jumping on a prey. The velociraptors are smaller, those you see in Jurassic Park movies are in fact much bigger that they should be, they are sized like the deinonychus but yeah velociraptor sounds way better ;-)

Hi guys long time no see !

I’m very excited to come back with a project I’ve been working on for a while !
Very soon is gonna be released in France at Glénat Editions (a big editor in France) the LEGODINO book !

It contains the best pictures I’ve ever made. I had two months to produce more than 30 pictures ! It was a real challenge. The book will feature 6 pages of making of, in which I explain all the creating process, from storyboard to post production.

Tyrannosaurus rex versus Triceratops !

When two giants of Jurassic came accross it must have been quite a show. Trees and ground under their massive weight should have kept track of what happened.

Today an adventurous explorer witness the extraordinary fight for survival of these two giants.
T. rex is a huge carnivore and primarily eat herbivorous dinosaurs, including Triceratops. The predator acquired its food through scavenging and hunting. He had the strongest bite of any land animal that ever lived, the dinosaur's bite could exert up to 12, 814 pounds-force which is roughly equivalent to the force of a medium-size elephant sitting down. No doubt a bite from him will be devastating for the Triceratops.

This image is part of an illustrated dinosaur’s book I’m working on with a paleontologist from the Muséum national d’Histoire naturel de Paris. So expect to see a lot of Dino pictures ! :-)
