I generally do not like to take pictures of the poor or the homeless because I consider it too easy and disrespectful to these people.
This is however an exception. This is because of the circumstances of this shot. I tried to take this picture of this man in a way that dignified him rather than making him a photo subject that was exploitable.
Haridwar though is full of people who beg. That has partly to do with its status as a holy city that encourages alms giving and also because there is a lot of poverty in the countryside.
