The Maya Devi Temple in Lumbini. It is widely believed that the historical Buddha, Sakyamuni or Siddhartha Gautama was born here. Today it is the scene of a familiar struggle between Hindu and Buddhist mendicants for alms from mostly Buddhist pilgrims.
